Scott Fontana is a celebrity stylist, owner of Cristophe Salon Newport Beach, proprietor of the Life Time Fitness Spa and Salon by Scott Fontana, founder of the Scott Fontana Collection line of salon products, and creator of the Making the Cut live hair show competition.

Throughout his 30-year career, Scott has worked with the industry’s leading icons and frequently traveled around the country to style the entertainment world’s biggest names for photo shoots, music videos, TV and fashion shows.

Hailing from a family of hairstylists, Scott Fontana harnessed his natural gift for styling hair early on. Scott moved to Boston in 2001 to open Salon Fontana with his brother at the Sports Club LA in the Ritz Carlton Hotel Boston Common. There, he met his wife and future business partner, Jennifer, when he hired her as the salon’s managing partner. Scott and Jennifer went on to own additional salon locations nationwide and established a strong reputation for providing clients with superior customer service.

In 2010, Scott and Jennifer Fontana took ownership of Cristophe Salon Newport Beach. Together, they have established the salon as the luxury beauty destination in Orange County, dedicated to five-star customer service. Committed to providing personalized experiences, Scott meets with all new clients who have not been referred to specific stylists to give them one-on-one consultations and pair them with the stylists that best suit their needs and personalities. Scott has created a loyal client base with his unique approach to creating gorgeous hair with luxury service. Throughout the process, from consultation to cutting and styling, his clients are left feeling revived and beautiful.

Always a serial entrepreneur, Scott unveiled his newest product line, the Scott Fontana Collection, in January 2013. The Scott Fontana Collection is available exclusively at Cristophe Salon Newport Beach.

"I have been a hair stylist for 25 years. I've worked and traveled the country with some of the industry's leading icons. I have coifed some of the entertainment world's biggest celebs and have done makeovers on some of the most popular TV shows. I have owned my own salons for the past 16 years and have used just about every hair care product line available. I have made a million dollars and have been flat broke. I was even a rock star for a little while. I have done just about everything I've wanted to do in this industry including developing my own hair care product line, the Scott Fontana Collection."

And yet, Scott found one more thing to do: create the industry's first and only live hair show competition, Making the Cut. The competition is a high-end, professionally produced event that features live hair cutting and styling on stage performed by leading local stylists, a live hair and fashion show, and a renowned judging panel comprised of beauty industry elite. The show is edgy, sexy and wildly entertaining. Scott has produced Making the Cut shows in Southern California, and has plans to expand to markets throughout the country.
